Pastor Bob - Power of the Blessing

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 3, 2021

Pastor Bob - Blessings
“Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We are to be lead by His Spirit all of your life. He’s given us protection - we have to appropriate it.

You will never have lack if you walk in His ways and be obedient to His Word. Always be a giver! You will never have a lack. Walking in the blessings, you will always find someone to bless.

I Peter 3:9 - You’re called to be a blessing that you may inherit a blessing.

Be a giver of your money and your time. May our life be an example of holiness always. We are always to walk in integrity and holiness, every day all day.

What is a blessing? A supernatural power of God released by our words.

Genesis 1:28 - God created male and female and blessed them. He gave them dominion over all the earth. If Adam had not sinned, we could all be in the garden today. The first thing God did was to bless them.

Genesis 12:1-3. “Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

I will make you a great nation;

I will bless you

And make your name great;

And you shall be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, And

I will curse him who curses you;

And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” ‭‭

Genesis‬ ‭12:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God is looking for somebody to use. The blessings of Abraham has shaped the world

If your family or friends don’t understand the blessings, don’t let it discourage you.

“Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

And he went on his journey from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai, to the place of the altar which he had made there at first. And there Abram called on the name of the LORD.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭13:2-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Finally, all of you be of one mind,

having compassion for one another;

love as brothers,

be tenderhearted,

be courteous;

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,

but on the contrary blessing,

knowing that you were called to this,

that you may inherit a blessing.

For “He who would love life And see good days,

Let him refrain his tongue from evil,

Let him turn away from evil and do good;

Let him seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their prayers;

But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” ‭‭

I Peter‬ ‭3:8-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.

Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:23-28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” ‭‭

Ephesians‬ ‭5:29, 31-33‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Husbands are to bless their wives, keep prayer over them and always bless her. If you love yourself, you will take care of your wife right.

Wives are to respect their husbands.

Three times the scriptures tell the husband to love their wife, but tells the wife to be in awe off.

“Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭3:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.

Finally, all of you be of one mind,

having compassion for one another;

love as brothers,

be tenderhearted,

be courteous;

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,

but on the contrary blessing,

knowing that you were called to this,

that you may inherit a blessing.

For “He who would love life And see good days,

Let him refrain his tongue from evil,

And his lips from speaking deceit.

Let him turn away from evil and do good;

Let him seek peace and pursue it.

For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,

And His ears are open to their prayers;

But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” ‭‭

I Peter‬ ‭3:7-12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Every man is the priest of their home. God moves through women as well, but the man is to be the spiritual leader of the home.

We are all to love one another. Don’t be evil, keep your mouth shut.

Blessings conveys security as you bless.

Deuteronomy 6 - blessings

“Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

When you eat the labor of your hands,

You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house,

Your children like olive plants All around your table.

Behold, thus shall the man be blessed Who fears the LORD.

The LORD bless you out of Zion,

And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life.

Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭128:1-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the LORD your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, that you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the LORD God of your fathers has promised you— ‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The men’s job is to teach their children and grandchildren. The 4th generation is the most powerful generation. If you don’t know about the fear of the Lord, you can’t teach it. The man is the priest of the home. If you’re not doing your job, you will have to stand before God for that.

““Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one!

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:4-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:1-4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:5-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:8-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

““Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.””

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Pray a blessing every day and every night. Pray Psalm 91 over your children. Read Proverbs every day starting with whatever day it is. First day of the month, read Proverbs 1, second day of the month, read Proverbs 2.

Eight ways to bless your older children:

  1. Praise - be thankful for them; thank them for being a help.

  2. Written word - write a card to your children.

  3. Drain anger from their lives. Stop, repent and ask for forgiveness.

  4. Leave a positive inheritance; joy, peace, blessings. Let them see it in you. Let the children see us serve one another.

  5. Teach financial responsibility. Show them how to tithe and how to walk in the blessings of God.

  6. Take care of your own health. Your children need to see you take care of yourself. Let your kids see you walk in health.

  7. Avoid being over controlling. Walk in love.

  8. Let your children begin to bless you.

I Peter 3:8, 9 - Be of one mind, love as brothers, not returning evil for evil because you are called to be a blessing so you can inherit a blessing.
